How Anand Agri Group made yield predictable across four estates.
The challenge
Four estates, four forecasting methods, one unusable number.
Each estate manager forecast in good faith using their own method, and the holding company added the results together. The consolidated number was wrong every season in a different direction, which made capital allocation between estates guesswork.
The approach
One forecasting model, built with the managers who use it.
We built a single model against five seasons of actuals from all four estates, then trained each manager on it rather than imposing it from the centre. Post-harvest handling was rebuilt around the same data, which is where most of the waste turned out to be.
The results
Forecast accuracy improved 2.6× across all four estates, and post-harvest waste fell 38% in the first full season.
